Hi, I'm Kristin Boyd. No, I'm not a doctor. I've just been surrounded by them all my life.
I spent 15 years as a residency coordinator at a top ranked program at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
As a teenager, I worked summers in my mother's practice. She's been a family practice doc for 46 years.
My stepfather was a thoracic surgeon. The closest I came to a medical career myself was when I helped him operate on a piglet on his brother's farm (it's a long story...my assistance mostly consisted of blotting pig blood, wiping the sweat from his brow and telling him that he was doing a fantastic job).
I was rewarded for my assistance with a never-ending series of "adjustments" which consisted of him sneaking up behind me and twisting me around like a rag doll, then telling me that I was doing much better (don't worry DOs, I won't hold this against you!)
I attended Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where I gained an appreciation for "foreign" cultures, and the nuances of intercultural relations. Several years spent working in a New York film studio gave me a respect for storytelling.
I know how to help you craft a narrative and control the residency conversation.
The match process can be intimidating. But you don't have to do this alone. I'm devoted to sharing the strategies I discovered during the recruitment process.
Truthfully, I will tell you what programs won't!
Please know that I am rooting for your success and will be cheering you on every step of the way.
It is my goal to help you stop struggling and make the match of your dreams.
